| Abstract: | This paper is a report on an exploratory study, which aims to generate questions relating to the success of language exchange partnerships, and the language learning that goes on within them, for further investigation. The paper is divided into two main parts. In the first part, we report on the Language Exchange scheme at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). In the second, we focus on the language used by one learner taking part in the scheme. |
