| Abstract: | Our Lanugage Centre provides an academic support service, advised by a pan-University Faculty Advisory Committee. As a service-oriented body, we must be sensitive to the needs of our users, not only the students we teach, but the Departments in which they study. These needs vary enormously--we have three Schools offering undergraduate and postgraduate degrees (Science, Engineering, and Business and Management), and one School offering undergraduate elective courses as well as postgraduate degree courses (Humanities and Social Science). Needs analysis is an extremely important element in the initial design of our courses. |
