| Abstract: | In this examination of the relationship between culture and preferred learning style among Chinese learners studying on English for Occupational Purposes (EOP) programmes at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), a cross-disciplinary approach is taken. Concepts from organisational management theory, namely the debate between upholders of convergent and divergent theories of culture, and Hofstede's (1980) dimensions for defining national cultures, are used to analyse the results of a survey administered to a group of EOP students. |
