| Abstract: | In the following brief account of our attempt to make use of a corpus for analysing the modal verb would, we first explain our rationale and the process of establishing a learning corpus from a monitor corpus. We then describe how we designed a set of worksheets to assist learners in the analysis, and finally we discuss some observations made during pilot tests of the materials. |
