| Abstract: | We provide a brief review of the management and organization literature related to the private economy in China over the 1986-2001 period. The subject area is relatively new and there are only a limited number of empirical and case studies published in management and organization journals over the study period. We have identified a total of 51 studies on the subject, of which 10 are empirical studies and 6 are case-based studies. We develop the following framework to summarize the key findings from these studies, and offer some suggestions for future research. |
