Abstract: The zero-temperature conductance spectrum of a double-chain tight-binding model for real DNAs is calculated and compared with that of a periodic one-chain model. It is shown that their conductance spectrum of this model are similar only for finite chain length under the condition when the inter-chain coupling of the two-chain model is strong enough. Thus the double-chain tight-binding model for real DNAs does not have conductance in thermodynamic limit.
