| Title: | Solving the Euler Equations using the generalised Lagrangian formulation |
| Authors: | Tam, Kin Kiu |
| Issue Date: | 1994 |
| Abstract: | In this thesis, the Euler equations of unsteady one-dimensional flow and three-dimensional axisymmetrical flow of an inviscid compressible fluid are investiagated using the Generalized Lagrangian Formulation . A shock capturing scheme is developed by applying the first-order Godunov method and its higher order extension to the conservation form equations of this formulation. The method is fast and robust. Futhermore, numerical experiments vertify that the Generalized Lagrangian Formulation is superior to the classical Eulerian formulation in resolving discontinuities. |
