Title: Laser action and weak photon localization in random scattering media with gain

Abstract: The laser action in random media and weak photon localization in the presence of gain were studied. The linewidth of lasing emission spectra in model and biological random gain media were found to depend on the scattering characteristics of the media. Simultaneous laser action of binary dye-mixture were observed in random media and the relative emission intensity of the donor and acceptor dyes was found to depend on the scattering characteristics. Finally, the coherent backscattering of light in random media in the presence of gain was also observed.
