| Title: | Dynamic threshold call admission control policy of multi-service wireless cellular networks : a statistical approach |
| Authors: | Keung, Yik |
| Issue Date: | 2004 |
| Abstract: | A dynamic call admission control policy for both single-service and multi-service wireless cellular networks have been proposed in this thesis, which can enforce the Quality of Service (QoS) requirements on the hand-off call dropping probabilities throughout the computer simulations. The successful approximations of the Dynamic Threshold (DT) algorithm provide stable and precise controls over a wide range of traffic rates, and at the same time, the fairness of resource allocation of the multi-service traffic is guaranteed. The major advantage of the DT policy is its performance in average channel utilization. By comparison with a previous proposed scheme, the DT scheme can increase about 25% at most of the average channel utilization in the situations of tight QoS requirements, while it also can achieve excellent results in other network performances. |
