Summary This presentation will very briefly summarize three issues for the subsequent panel discussion. Firstly, do the same type of key players exist in the innovation systems of different countries? If not, how can we compare the roles that they play in the innovation process? Secondly, what is the most important aspect of each player's role? I would suggest that constructive interaction with other players is vital for innovation - perhaps even more important than the strength and power of each player. Thirdly, do we know how various players are mobilized in the innovation process?
